The days and night I spent creating, writing and developing various essays on a central topics was very interesting. The essays focused on the topic of the influence of Jazz music in Harlem , by creating these essays in various genres allowed me as a writer to make use of various genres to express my ideas. In addition the learning outcomes of the class were actively engaged in while writing and were use to create a successful piece on the topic and subtopics highlighted by the author .

The attitudes towards linguistic writing empower and oppress language users in various way.  The attitudes developed by individuals during the reading or writing process, can determine the perspective on various thoughts and options on a topic . However, issues may arise if the message being portray is unclear to the reader or the writer cannot fully express oneself.

The writer engaged in extensive writing and critical organization, analysis for each genre. Writing in various genres such as the narrative essay entitled “What is Jazz Music? A Musical Journey on How I Prepared for My first Jazz Performance!” required the writer to develop organizational techniques, in order to obtain a logical flow within the essay, since the writer was reflecting on past events. Moreover, writing in various genres strengthen the writers skills by using various techniques required for each genre such as persuasive techniques and rhetorical appeals .

Additionally , the rhetorical situations used within the multiple essays allowed the writer to have better expression and clarity for each essay . The author had to remember the purpose, audience, topic, context and culture of the pieces in order to create a successful essay. This is was  portrayed in choosing words such as to inform , to define in an informative essay while in a persuade piece the writer used words such as to persuade , to support while writing.

Moreover , while constructing essays the author developed a step wise plan on how to review the essays. This was particularly seen in an extract from my revision plan. “Along with the use of peer reviews and second opinions to create an excellent writing piece. The editing process would be done by writing down draft suggestions, followed by reading aloud and adding the information to the necessary location. Afterwards, the paragraphs would be read, and comments would be generated on if the suggestions added were beneficial to the writing process. By following these steps, I hope to achieve a successful writing process for my Musical Journey Narrative. ”

The understanding of identifying rhetorical term and strategies become essential while writing , as these ultimately would affect the writer review process and their focus while writing . The cautious use of the various terms and strategies were first needed to be understood properly by the writer , to create a functional essay .Understand and use print and digital technologies to address a range of audiences. The usage of the online media and print media allowed the writer to have a better appeal to the various audiences. This was seen in the picking of scholarly sources and the use of pictures from online sources to supposed to claims made by the authors, allowing in a better understanding of what was being expressed. Moreover, the use of various forms of media allowed for a wider range of audience to be engaged in reading the topic. This was seen in the research paper by using both pictures and physical quotes from the book to appeal to the various audiences while reading. .

Additionally, the selecting the pieces to be used in the pieces ensured that the pieces were apricot the topic by reading them , along with looking for peer reviews for the scholarly sources in CCNY Library. The of publication of the various pieces allowed the author to determine if that particular date was acceptable for the ideas reflected upon by the author. Also, creating text using summary , analysis is , synthesis and argumentation was seen throughout the essays . Specifically, the research paper which required the use of facts and statement in order to portray a study done on the topic.

 
The use of citations allows the writer to develop a skill of giving credit we’re other writers where necessary by using citations. The writing aspect of the project required that the writer used a particular citation style APA 6th edition where the date of the articles were extremely important. By using the citations the author became better at researching and referencing the work created. Additionally citing the sources increased the credibility of the piece, by showing that proper research on the topic was done ,and giving credit to other writers within the field by avoiding plagiarism.

Also, the writer also engaged in field work by visiting many of the sites mention by the various individuals within the subgroup to have a better understanding of the history and culture of Jazz in Harlem . The interviews conducted allowed for a better understanding of as to why individuals engaged in Jazz and their thoughts on various topics around the Jazz community in Harlem .

Finally while conducting my field research and developing essays on The Influence of Jazz Music in Harlem , I have become a better writer and think in creating writing pieces . Also I have learnt to express myself better and using appropriate techniques where used , these particular skills I have develop would aid me in the future in being a better writer as well as a reader .
